On April 6th, I volunteered at the CU art auction. This particular exhibit displayed works that exemplified the Native American experience and life in the United States. This was very interesting as it displayed the erasure of Native American contributions to society including science. It was very interesting to walk around and view the art while also being in service of the organization. I helped set up and also directed people once the event started. I chose this activity to volunteer for because art is able to open the mind to so many possibilities, and art is an amazing way of expressing the feeling of being so small in the grand scheme of the universe. After the activity, I felt incredibly fulfilled and that I learned about a new perspective.
